SOFTWARE ENGINEER
A2Z Drone Delivery is looking to grow its software team. The ideal candidate has the following experience:
3+ years C/C++ development experience: We need someone who the understands the importance of code readability and maintainability
3+ years with embedded systems: Much of our code runs on microcontrollers in the sky, so it's important to have experience with these types of systems.
3+ years in an enterprise software development environment: We intend to continue growing, and require the collaboration skills that come from developing software as part of a team.
Bonus Points:
ML/CV: Our onboard AI relies on vision cameras and other sensor inputs to orchestrate landings and deliveries in real-time. We need someone comfortable working with a linux system, interfacing with hardware, and desigining robust, efficient computer vision solutions.
App development: Our end users interact with our products through desktop and tablet applications. Experience in a front-end environment is a plus.
Electronics and robotics: Our code usually runs close to the metal. You should ideally be comfortable with development boards and basic principles of electronics to best work with and develop our systems.
Aviation: The more familiar you are with things that fly, the better. The aerospace industry imposes unique challenges: Weight and power constraints, regulatory hurdles, safety concerns, and its own set of industry-specific protocols and tools.
Hours
Our preference with new hires is to start on a part-time hourly or project basis to assess the fit for a salaried full-time positon.
Location
Strong preference for candidates in the Los Angeles area. Mix of remote work, office work, and field work (eg flight testing). Willingness to travel is a plus.
Rate
Depending on experience, $40-$80/hr for the hourly period, then a negotiable salary+equity package depending on performance and mutual expectations.
