A2Z RDS2 Drone Delivery Winch

The A2Z RDS2 is a commercial drone winch system designed to safely deliver and retrieve payloads without requiring the aircraft to land. By lowering cargo from altitude, operators can save energy, avoid ground obstacles and access delivery locations that would otherwise be difficult or unsafe for drone operations.

Deliver Payloads Without Landing

The RDS2 enables drones to lower packages directly to the ground without landing, allowing deliveries in areas with vehicles, structures, vegetation, water, uneven terrain, or other obstacles. This expands the range of locations where commercial drone delivery missions can be performed safely and efficiently.

Pickup and Retrieval Operations

Beyond delivery, the RDS2 can retrieve payloads from remote locations without requiring the aircraft to land. This capability is valuable for logistics, maritime operations, emergency response, and infrastructure support missions.

Main Features
  • Deliver payloads up to 10 kg / 22 lb
  • Retrieve payloads up to 5 kg / 11 lb
  • No landing required for delivery or pickup operations
  • Saves battery life as the drone does not have to land and take off
  • Precision payload lowering and auto-release
  • Compatible with commercial delivery and logistics drones
Commercial Delivery Applications
  • Medical and healthcare logistics
  • Last-mile delivery operations
  • Mining operations
  • Industrial site-to-site transport
  • Remote facility resupply
  • Utility and infrastructure support
  • Ship-to-shore and shore-to-ship delivery

Auto Release Sequence
RDS2 Payload Release

The RDS2 lowers the payload to the delivery point, automatically releases the package, and retracts the tether so the aircraft can continue the mission without landing.

RDS2 auto release sequence
Step 01

Payload Lowered

No Landing Required

The RDS2 securely lowers the payload from altitude while the aircraft remains safely above the delivery area.

Step 02

Ground Contact

Controlled Placement

The package reaches the delivery point while the winch maintains controlled line management through the descent.

Step 03

Automatic Release

Auto-Release Hook

Once the payload is positioned, the hook releases the package without manual contact from the recipient or operator.

Step 04

Payload Separation

Hands-Free Delivery

The delivery bag remains securely on the ground as the release mechanism separates from the payload attachment point.

Step 05

Tether Clears Payload

Clean Separation

After release, the tether and hook move clear of the package, reducing the chance of dragging or disturbing the delivery.

Step 06

Ready For Next Mission

Repeatable Workflow

With the payload delivered and the hook clear, the RDS2 can retract the line so the aircraft can continue or return to base.

Safety Features

Safety Remains Our Top Priority

Built-in safeguards help support safer delivery missions by keeping the aircraft elevated, securing the payload, and giving operators emergency options when needed.

Emergency Abandon

Release the payload and tether to free the aircraft from sticky situations.

Deliver From Altitude

Keep spinning props away from people and property.

Passive Payload Lock

Payload remains secure in the event of a connection or power loss.

Applications

Built For Real-World Delivery Missions

The RDS2 supports payload delivery and retrieval across medical, maritime, emergency response, inter-site transport, and last-mile logistics operations.
