THE ROLE

As an sUAS Technician, you will play a critical role in building, testing, and maintaining A2Z’s proprietary sUAS platforms. This hands-on role combines technical assembly, system integration, and flight operations support. You’ll ensure our platforms are reliable, safe, and scalable — supporting the product and customer journey.

A TYPICAL WEEK MAY INCLUDE

• Assembling and integrating aircraft systems in our Torrance facility.
• Performing ground and flight tests to validate system performance.
• Supporting engineering teams with troubleshooting, data collection, and iterative development.
• Traveling to customer sites or test locations to support deployments and demonstrations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assemble, calibrate, and maintain sUAS platforms according to engineering specifications.
• Conduct functional tests, flight operations, and data logging in compliance with FAA Part 107 (soon Part 108).
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, escalating insights to engineering teams.
• Maintain accurate documentation of builds, modifications, and maintenance activity.
• Collaborate with engineering and product development to refine design and manufacturing processes.
• Ensure adherence to safety standards, risk assessments, and operational procedures.
• Provide on-site technical support for demonstrations, tests, and deployments.

You are a hands-on problem solver who is as comfortable with maintenance on a flight controller and operating sUAS to high operational compliance. You’re passionate about aviation technology and thrive in a fast-paced, iterative environment where learning and responsibility go hand-in-hand.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate.
• Previous professional sUAS experience.
• Strong technical skills in assembly, maintenance, or repair of aircraft systems.
• Safety-first mindset with familiarity in risk assessments and checklists.
• Excellent time management and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally when required.

NICE-TO-HAVES

• Background in aerospace, electrical, or mechanical engineering/technologies.
• Experience with OEM product development, prototyping, or production scaling.
• Familiarity with flight test campaigns, data collection, and reporting.
• Experience creating technical documentation or SOPs.
